Walter Clement Overmyer was a preacher when his daughter, Marilyn Overmyer Tokarz, was a child. He had a job preaching in Tennessee for a while. As you can see by the picture the church was in the middle of a tobacco field, but his congregation didn't take to kindly to it when he told them that they should plow the evil stuff under and plant corn in it's place.

Marilyn relates a story about how she was always getting into trouble by going over to where they were tieing the tobacco and helping them. But when she came home with her hands stained black from the tobacco juice, her father knew where she had been. As a results, Marilyn got more than one spanking for her time spent in the tobacco fields.
