In 2003 I took the plunge and applied to do an Open University course. A scary thing as I hadn't done any proper studying for a number of years and also studying that involved doing the majority of it by myself! People ask why am I doing it, I am doing it for me and the subjects that I plan to take are mainly out of interest rather than a goal of a "named" degree. I have no plans to do anything with it at the moment, but who knows I am inspired by a good friend of mine who took a number of years to get her degree, she graduated with a first class degree and is now studying to be a doctor, you see there is life after 40!
My first course was French, and then I took the Discovering Science. My next course is the Humanities..
