Grown Ups

Me! I spent the first years of my life in Kent, going to the local primary school and then when I was 11 to the same school that my father when to when he was of school age. In 1985 I left Kent and moved to Newmarket, Suffolk, home of horseracing and where horses had the right of way! A few homes later and I am now in Norfolk, back to enjoying the countryside. I grew up surrounded by orchards and in a small village, my parents are still in the same house that we moved into when I was two years old.

After school exams I went to work in London, starting out at a Diesel Engineers in SE1, then various other jobs including working for a firm of brokers on the London Metal Exchange, a stint temping, working for one of the major merchant banks then moving to an American bank. I left there and went to work locally for one of the UK's larger water companies where I worked in the legal department, moved to work in Total Quality and then in employee development where I managed the company's graduate recruitment programme, whilst there I did my NVQ 3 in Business Administration, my NebSM Certificate a Certificate in Personnel Practice (becoming a member of the IPD) and also did the Occupational Testing Certificate (yes, I can administer those ability tests that we love to hate!).

A change in life meant that I left that job and went back to temping, working again in London and finally working locally for a firm of Executive Search and Selection consultants where I worked for two consultants. I left there to have a baby and one of the consultants I was working for set up her own consultancy and so I went to work there and which was one of my favourite jobs. My CV is therefore quite diverse, it also includes Commercial Property legal work and retail work!

Brian likes to play computer strategy games and has occasionally played Mechwarrior online (this is where Morgan's name stems from) although he hasn't played it recently. He also plays the Warhammer games and has quite an army building up although I am glad that he has to paint it rather than me as there are lots of elves and other beings. He's a dab hand with computers, has built several websites and is now doing a lot of DIY.
