State of Georgia
This Indenture made this first day of October in the year
of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight, between
John English of Warren County and State above written of the
one part, and John Wilson Junr, of the same State, and Columbia
County of the other part. Witnesseth, that for and in consideration
of the sum of two hundred dollars in hand will and truly paid
unto the said John English, by the said John Wilson at or
before the Sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold
and confirmed by these presents, a certain tract or parcel
of Land, of about fifty acres, be the same more or less. Situate
lying and being in Warren County, and state aforesaid, on
the waters of Brier Creek, beginning at a post and corner,
by J. Carter's Land, on Daniel Shows's line running South
7, E. to the long branch to a stake, from thence up Branch
to a stake joining English's Land, from thence South Westwardly
to a post oak corner on said English's line, from thence along
Daniel Shows's line to the beginning post oak corner, it being
a part of a four hundred acre tract granted to John Dunaway
the thirteenth day of October 1785. Together with all and
singular the rights, member appurtenances thereunto belonging,
or in any wise appertaining, and also all the right, title,
interest, claim or demands into or out of the same, to have
and to hold, the said land and premises aforesaid, unto the
only use, benefit and behoof of him the said John Wilson his
heirs and assigns, and the said John English for himself,
his heirs, do by these presents warrant and defend said Land
and premises, against himself, his heirs or any other person
or persons whatsoever claiming or to claim in fee simple.
Witness whereof the said John English hath hereunto set his
hand and affixed his seal, the day and date first above written.
