John 'Wesley' English, Sr. was born in North Carolina (possibly Burke County.) He migrated to Georgia and was living in Franklin County by 1827 when his daughter, Olive Early English, was born to him and his first wife, (Unk.)  Slayton. She died sometime before 1839.  John Wesley English married second to Elizabeth L. Shaw on 27 Jan 1839 in Franklin County. They were parents to nine children. Many of these children migrated from Georgia to White County, Arkansas and have remained there to the present day.
