Allen Robert English

Overview
"The Shakesphere of "Rotten Row"
Allen R. English was born in Saginaw, Michigan to Scotch-Irish parents. His father, who lived to the advanced age of eighty-eight years, was a prominent shipbuilder of that northern state, while his mother came of one of the first families of Maryland, the Fitzgeralds. Mr. English was essentially a pioneer of Tombstone, for, although he practiced law for a brief time in the city of his birth, he came to Tombstone in 1880, when he was twenty years of age. He was elected district attorney of Cochise county for three terms, first in 1887.
