JUDGE LOFLIN DIED AT HOME IN ENTERPRISE LAST THURSDAY
Judge John Morgan Loflin; solicitor of the 12th Judicial Circut
Court of Alabama, died at his home in Enterprise Thursday night
at 11:00 P.M. following a long period of declining and a recent
serious illness. Judge Loflin has been confined to his room
for some weeks, but his conditionwas considered improved. Death
came unexpected while he slept. Born in Russell County near
Eufaula 61 years ago, he was the son of the Reverend James Martin
Loflin and Mrs. Loflin. Part of his early life was spent in
Pike County near Troy. He began the practice of law in Elba,
from which place he moved to Enterprise in 1903, at which period
he was serving as County Judge. In 1905, he was elected Mayor
of Enterprise. In 1927 he represented Coffee County in the State
Senate, serving one term and he was just concluding his tern
as solicitor. His prominence in the political affairs of the
town and county over so long a period had won for him a large
circle of friends. He was also interested in fraternal organizations,
being a member of the Masons. In 1898, he was married to Miss
Mollie English of Elba, who survived him, with two sons, John
J. of Enterprise and Edwin of Mobile; three daughters: Mrs.
Edwin Enzor and Miss Lucille Loflin of Washington D.C., and
Miss Annie Clyde Loflin of Enterprise. Funeral was held from
the family residence Sunday at 2 P.M. with I.L.(?-letters are
either I.I.; I.L.; or L.L.) Boles, Pastor of the Church of Christ,
officiating, with burial in City Cemetery. |

| Notes for Ben Bartow
Bullard: |
| |
In 1910, after his mother died, at the age
of 22, Ben Bullard had most of his siblings living with him
in Geneva County. They were listed in the same household and
dwelling as E.M. Jordon, his wife Harriet and their son Tiilman.
Both E.M. and Ben were listed as heads of household.
Both Ada and Mattie were married by then, possibly Zonia was
living with one of them.
I have not found any sign of James after 1900, when, at age
17 he was still living with Margarett and the rest of the family.
At that time they were living in Prec. 16, Kimmys Mill area
four households away from her brother William and seven away
from her parents.
