11:00 a.m. Gather at English Family
Cemetery in Macon County, Ga. for a short program, then browse
about the cemetery. Bring flowers to place on graves if you
will, plus bring a folding chair.
12:30 p.m. BBQ dinner at Ellaville,
Ga. Senior Citizens Center. $ 7.00 per person, and pay at the
door. Reservations must be made with James Gaston by Monday,
May 26, 2003. A short business session will be held after dinner.
In case of inclement weather,
the 11:00 a.m. gathering will be held at Red Hill Primitive
Baptist Church (same place as 2002) about one half mile west
of Oglethorpe on Ga. Hwy. 26.
About the Gathering
The Ellaville Senior Citizens Center (located next door to City Hall) was selected this year because
it is more modern and the rental rate was better. Park along
the adjacent streets. Bring your English family pictures,
Bibles, and other family information. If possible, bring a
card table to place them on. There will be one or 2 tables
available. During the business session after dinner we will
have information presented regarding forming an English Family
Association. If there is enough interest, we will appoint
a committee to pursue the matter.
At the 2002 Reunion (the first
one in many years) 95 descendants attended from 6 states,
so we are looking for a grand time this year. We are hoping
that each one will have time to stay and visit after dinner
so we can all learn who our relatives are. If you know of
an English descendant (or in-law) that has passed away since
2002, please let James Gaston know so they may be remembered
at the Cemetery gathering. Also, please send this information
to other relatives that may not be on our mailing list.
