My dear sister and brother,

I can hardly see to write to you our sad news we have lost our dear Blanche she died on the 13 as you will see by the newspaper item enclosed I cannot tell you all the particulars now for Bessie and myself have been very sick since her funeral she was staying with a woman at Pentz that had a felon on her hand(s) she was down there three weeks and the last week was coming home sunday I watched all day for her but she did not come when they went to school monday went to see why she did not come she was sick in bed and out of her head she washed on Saturday morning and caught a chill just when her turns should have come and it all rushed to her brain and killed her and that cruel woman never to let us know she was sick before it was too late to help her me and father went with a wagon and bed and brought her home but she never knew me or had a sensible minute the horror of it is just killing me we got her home on Wednesday I stayed with her down there Tuesday night and she died Friday morning half past ten. Feby 13 buried 15
