Postcards from Mary Endean (AUST) to Bella Mitchell (UK)

Cartoon Postcard

Dec 23rd 1911
We had a good time at Ralph Humble's wedding last Wednesday. What do you think of this card? Can you pick me out? (ha, ha) The wedding was a swanky affair and I think they will be sending an account of it to the Morpeth Herald. We are having terrible hot weather, 106 in the shade today.

Dear Bella
What do you think of this photo? The cow is dull a bit, as it moved a little. We had the game on to get it to stand. We couldn't get our photos taken with our own cow when we lived at Shankhouse "eh", so things are looking up you see.

Dear Bella
I expect you enjoyed yourself at Xmas. It was very quiet here. We just sat on the verandah and sang carols. Jack & Billy Patterson sang solos & then to finish up with Nix gave a song, so then we had to depart to bed. (ha, ha) We are going to a picnic at Humbles. Lylie Honey is coming to go too so we will have some fun. Plenty of boys you know. I wish you all a bright and happy New Year.

Dear Bella
Thanks very much for the nice birthday card you sent me. Take a trip over for my next birthday Bella, as I will be 21 you know, and I will come into my money.(IDJ) I won't forget you then - ha, ha. Kind regards to all.
Your ever-loving friend, Mary
