My dear Uncle & Aunt
I am very glad to tell you that Joe as got home safe and sound. But we were very sorry that he did not come before our dear Father died were received letter telling us he was coming the very morning that he died in the afternoon half past 2
We tried to get Father to understand that we received a letter from Joe but he was so far gone he could not see nor speak & all is talk was about Joe he trouble himself a lot about the children But we were all very glad to see him he had a good passage over he only take 8 days Our Dear Mother as keeped up well consetering & then Joe coming home caused sorrow mixed with joy
But dear Uncle & Aunt We do not morn as those without hope we know our dear Father as gone to a better place where there is no more pain for is suffering was intence
We thought it would have killed our mother but she is keeping up very well I have been here 6 weeks But I am going home on Saturday
Dear Aunt & Uncle I do hope you will write to Mother it will cheer her up all our family is quite well & sends there kindness and love to all++
Hoping you will excuse bad writing as I have not much time & hoping to hear from you soon I remain your loven niace
