Obituary for Lena Brilla Gaston Callaway

Lena Brilla Gaston Callaway, 90, of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Callaway was born December 13, 1917 in McCollum, Georgia; the daughter of the late William David Gaston and the late Emmaline Gaston. Mrs. Callaway worked in retail sales for over thirty years and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey C. Callaway; brothers, Delbert, Robert, Harley, Harrison, Homer, Sam, Tiny, and Jewel; sisters, Mary, Hattie, Ollie, Hattie, Dee, and Willie; and grandson, Ronald Glenn Callaway.

Survivors include son and daughter in-law, Drayton and Carol Callaway of Whitesburg; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their overwhelming gratitude to caregivers, Dianna Jones, Donna Carlile, Anna Shoemake, Central Home Healthcare, and Tanner Hospice for the loving care that was provided to Mrs. Callaway.

Graveside Services will be conducted Monday, June 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM from Consolation Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitesburg with Pastor Allen Howard officiating. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Sunday, June 15, 2008 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tanner Hospice Care, 710 Dixie St., Carrollton, GA 30117 or to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
