MURPHY'S EMERALD IDYLL
FAMILY
MY BETTE WITH AN E
As pentacostal tongues of fire apostles' lips afreed,
So did she loose my alien soul, Almighty's word to heed.
I cannot even start to say how many joys abound
Within my heart and in my life since Bette came around.
Before she came my world above was nothing but a cloud,
And I was but a foundering man, a hermit in a crowd.
She cleared my sky, my universe, a million stars to see
And freed my heart, true love to know, my Bette with an E.
A whole new meaning did she give the word called family,
Myself the man, cat Molly too, and Bette with an E.
