Samuel Kelley Sr. was born abt. 1774. He and wife Elizabeth (last name unknown, possibly Ford) owned much land on the Horn Branch of Red Lick Creek, Estill County, Ky. Samuel Sr. served as sheriff of Estill County in 1837. He was a minister that performed many early Estill and Madison County marriages.
NANCY: b. 1/14/1796 d. 2/14/1852 of pneumonia, married 3/25/1822, George Ruble b. 7/7/1786 in Virginia d. 8/26/1879.ELIZABETH: "Betsy" married George Friend on 9/21/1817 in Madison County, Ky.
JEMIMA: b. 12/6/1800 d. 2/4/1876 m. Ryan Richardson, a constable, b. 1800. They were married 5/13/1820 in Madison Co. Ky. Both are buried in the Richardson Cemetery. Ryan was grandson of Amos Richardson and first cousin of Nancy Ann Richardson, mother of Squire Finney.
SAMUEL JR: b. 5/6/1803 d. 6/24/1843. He married Rachael McFarland b. 1803-1843 on 3/25/1822. Samuel Jr. was a tax collector and also a surveyor. Samuel Jr. and Rachael are buried in the Richardson Cemetery.
EMMANUEL: b. abt. 1807, d. 3/21/1859, m. 7/22/1827 to Nancy Kindred. Nancy was daughter of Nathaniel Kindred 1781-1839, and Polly Mills, married in Madison Co. Ky. in 1804. Nathaniel and Polly are buried in the Red Lick Cemetery in Madison County.
CHARLOTTE: "Lotty" married Edly T. Epperson in Estill Co. Ky on 10/21/1828. Epperson was born 1807 in Hawkins Co. Tennessee.
HARRISON: b. abt. 1814, m. Juliann Kindred on 10/15/1828 in Madison Co. Ky. A farmer , he was also a minister. Harrison married second, Vida Witt, a widow, age 32, in 1872.
