Jacobus Emans was born about 1714 or before and died in 1735. He married Jannetje Kouwenhoven, daughter of William and Annetie Kouwenhoven, in about 1732. Jannetje was born October 6, 1714 in Flatlands, Long Island and died February 14, 1792. Jacobus owned and cultivated the farm in New Utrecht which his father bought of Stofeel Romeyn now of John Lott. They had a daughter, Jacoba, who was born October 3, 1733 and died February 14, 1825. Jacoba married Jaques Denyse.

After Jacobus died Jaunetje married Garret Schneck in November 1737.
