In May of 1819 (day not recorded on deed), Thomas purchased 50 acres of land on the waters of Litten's Mill Creek from John Barnes.6 He appeared on the 1820 Federal Census of Lincoln County, North Carolina, with a household listed as one male 10-15, one male 16-18, one male 16-25, one male 45 & over, one female 16-25, and one female 45 & over with three persons engaged in agriculture.7

On May 1, 1822, Thomas sold three tracts of land that he had orginally purchased from John Crawford in 1803 to his three sons, James, William, and George.8,9,10 Then on October 5, 1823, Thomas sold the land that he had purchased from John Barnes to his son Allen.11 On October 7, 1823, Thomas made out his Last Will & Testament.12 He died on 12 October 1823 at Lincoln County, North Carolina, at age 60.13,1,12 (His will was proved in the October session 1823).
