Johann George #8 was born at harvest time (August) and baptised on Dec 25, 1770 by the Rev. Daniel Schumacher who ministered to Lutheran and Reformed congregations throughout this part of Pennsylvania. John George was over 14 at his fathers death but still a minor. He would have been 18 or 19 years old when his father died, according to his tombstone. His brother-in-law, Rhinehart Schnepp was appointed guardian. John George was a sponsor at the baptism of his nephew George (son of J. Adam) on Dec 11, 1795.
Correspondence with Denny Hiser of Ohio and Ethyl Lawson also of Ohio have devloped information that almost certainly establishes a George Heiser who moved to Stark Co., Ohio from Pennsylvania as being our Johann George. Later generations used the spelling Hiser.
The Ohio George was born in about 1770. A George Heiser married Christena Filbs ( see below) at Schwartzwald Reformed Church in Berks County, Pa. on August 21, 1796. The George Heiser who lived and died in Stark County., Ohio was married to a Christena and their first child was born in August of 1797. Denny's records show that George and Christena's children were:
|#49 Elizabeth b 8/30/1797d 9/18/1863||#50 John b 1799 in Pa d c 1850||#51 Jacob b 8/27/1804 in Pa d 12/18/1878||#52 Henry b 1806 d 5/15/1878||#53 Catherine b 1806 in Pa d 9/1/1870||#54 Margaret b 5/11/1807 in Centree Co.Pa d 6/8/1894||#55 George II b 2/2/1809 d9/6/1880||#56 David b 3/15/1817 d. 2/22/1866|
It is apparent that George and Christena moved to Ohio after 1806 and probably before 1809. This is also the aproximate time his sister Susanna and brother -in-law, who were named as his guardians, moved to Ohio.
A great amount of research has gone into this branch of the Hiser-Heiser family.
Part of the descendancy of George and Christena is in the Heiser-Eisenhauer Book which can be found in the public libraries of Cincinnati, Ohio and Ft. Wayne, Ind. (George Hiser, the grandson of George and Christena, married Maria catherine Eisenhauer in Feb of 1859)
Fred Kunkel has done research on this branch of the family over a perod of many years. He is a fifth generatioin descendant of George and a sixth generation descendant of Johann Adam.
#51 Jacob, above, was Fred's third generation ancestor. Fred and Denny Hiser corresponded for several years before Fred died c 1997 and Denny has put the entire effort into a computer program. Denny is a sixth generation descendant of George and a seventh generation of Johan Adam. #56 David above was Denny's third generation ancestor.
