Moved to U.S. in 1866 and to Benton Co. Indiana around 1881 having lived in
Irwin area, St. George and L'Erable (Illinois) for some time and Newton Co.,
Indiana before coming to Benton Co.
DOCMENTATION: Baptismal certificate, marriage application, death certificate, obit
His name may be Gerome Michel. There is also a son named Joseph who is 12 on
the 1870 census for Kankakee Co. If age is correct must be child of Michel's
second marriage.
Assumption made on death location because brother Theophile married there same
year.

Baptism not on St. Jacques or St. Philippe but in the time frame where baptisms
were not regularly recorded.
Her obit says she was born at St. George, Illinois but a younger brother was
born in Canada per his burial record so that would mean she was born in Canada.
If she really was born in St. George, then her younger brother, Delphus was
born in St. George.
His obit says he was born in Kentland but a younger brother, Delphus's burial
record indicates he was born in Quebec which would mean that Joseph was also
born there or the younger brother's record is incorrect. Cannot find his birth
in Kentland or Fowler or in Illinois. He died at the Illinois State Hospital
where he'd lived for 5 years. His wife was still alive at his death. he lived
in Herscher prior to his hospitalization.
