OBITUARY

Barbara Brovont, daughter of Daniel and Kathrine Metzger, was
born in Carroll Co., Indiana, on July 11, 1864.  She departed
this life September 13, 1944, at her home southwest of Rossville,
Ind.
Age 80 years, 2 months and 2 days.  On February 25, 1900, she was
married to Daniel Brovont of Custer, Michigan, where they spent
20 years of their married life, moving back to Indiana in 1920.
He preceded her in death on April 24, 1934.  She leaves to mourn
their loss one son, Elmer Brovont of Rossville, Ind.  One son
having preceded her in death in infancy, and seven stepchildren,
Laura Saxton of Custer, Michigan, Amanda Trowbridge of Gladwin,
Michigan, John Brovont of Mulberry, Indiana, William Brovont of
Sunfield, Michigan, Lewis Brovont of Davidson, Michigan, Orpha
Adams of Davidson, Michigan and Myrtie Cameron of Saginaw,
Michigan.  Three grand children and 20 step grand children.
Three brothers, John Metzger of Goshen, Indiana, Eli Metzger of
Custer, Michigan, and Daniel Metzger of Goshen, Indiana.  Two
sisters, Susan Wagoner of Frankfort, Indiana, and Mary Shively of
Rossville, Indiana.  Four brothers and two sisters having
preceded her in death.  She united with the Old Order German
Baptist Church in early life to which faith she remained faithful
till death.  In her last days she remembered the Apostle James'
advise and was anointed.
 

  One by one the chairs stand vacant
  Which were filled by those we loved,
  One by one the seats are filling
  In the Heavenly courts above.
