I have reviewed the book Ohio County Cemeteries, Revised Edition, recorded by D. R. Dorrell many times trying to find my ancestors. I got very discouraged that there was not an index to this great book. So I made one.
FAQS: The index is only an index. If you want to know where your ancestor was buried and what was on their tombstone, you need to look it up in Ohio County Cemeteries.
I did not include all names in this index. The section in the book for the New Cemetery and German Cemetery were already in alphabetical order. So I did not include those cemeteries in the index.
All entries that did not have a surname are listed at the end of the index.
I put all the entries for the same surname and given name together, so you might need to look at multiple pages in the book.
I still am looking for some of my ancestors that were buried in Rising Sun, Ohio County, Indiana. I am looking for the graves of George E HILLIS (born May 1857) and his wife Mary Susan WASHBURN (28 Sep 1866-19 Apr 1919). As well as my grandmother’s brother’s grave, Robert BASCOM (30 Jun 1922-14 Feb 1930). Death certificates for Mary and Robert say they were buried in Rising Sun. Contact me if you find them. |
