ROCKDALE ? Services for Lester D. Jackson, 72, of Cameron are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. The Rev. Tim Cheatham of Battetown Baptist Church in Cameron will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Jackson died Saturday in Kings Daughters Hospital in Temple.

He was born in Milam County and lived in Cameron for 13 years. He was raised and lived most of his life in Rockdale. He was supervisor for Kerr-Bann in Taylor for 20 years. He spent the last 20 years with the King of Swing Band. He attended the Marlow Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Rockdale VFW Post No. 6525. Survivors include his wife, Sally Jackson of Cameron; a daughter, Debbie Melton of Cameron; a sister, Evonell McMillian of Houston; and a grandson.
