William is the father of the Loundes, Co, Al Dunklins. William moved his family to Butler Co, Al in
1819, then on to the Collirene area in 1826.

WILLIAM DUNKLIN,
son of Joseph Dunklin by his wife Jean Wathin, was born in Orangeburg Township, South Carolina, May
17, 1781. He married in 1799, Anne Hendricks Hamilton, the daughter of Thomas Hamilton (son of David
Hamilton by his wife Margaret Carlisle of Belfast, Ireland, who had emigrated to America in 1762, bringing
their four-year-old son Thomas, who had been born in Ireland April 9, 1758, and who died August 1844),
by his wife Temperance Arnold, in South Carolina. They moved to Alabama in 1819 and settled first in
Butler County and later removed to Lowndes County near Collorine Hill, where they both died, he in 1828
and his wife in 1869. Both are hurried in Wathin Cemetery, ten miles south of Benton, Alabama. They
had issue : 1. Hanse Hamilton, born July 28, 1801. 2. John Hendricks, born September 28, 1803,
died July 18, 1824, of fever; buried in Butler County, Alabama. 3. James Washington, born September
5, 1805. 4. Temperance Martin, born December 9, 1807, married William B. Haralson, September 13,
1827. 5. William Alanson, born January 30, 1810. 6. Thomas Wathin, born April 2, 1812. 7-
Jane Caroline, born February 9, 1814, married January 27, 1829, Hugh Patrick Caffey, by whom she had
issue : Thomas Dunklin, born May 23, 1831 ; died November 10, 1904, single; Hugh William,* born February
20, 1833 ; Hooper Patrick, born March 26, 1837, died September 13, 1863, married Maria Rast ; Mary Ann,
born January 23, 1840, married William Wathin Dunklin, and Irene Caroline, born October 29, 1845, died
July 14, 1900, married John Ashurst Caffey. 8. Margaret Ann, born January n, 1816, died 1817.
