YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTON!

If you have read the "About the Author" (that's me) page, you know that I'm a very proud Navy wife. If your family tree is similar to mine, you have a great deal of ancestors that have done military service. There are at least 2 holidays that I can think of where we honor our National Defense and fallon fellow service memebers, they are Memorial Day and Armes Forces Day.

The slogan "You are not forgotton" reflects on our POWs & MIAs of the Viet Nam War (Conflict). This slogan should not just reflect on our POWs & MIAs, but as well as our fallon commrades in time of war... any war. Our government has erected the World War II Memorial, The Wall , The U.S.M.C Memorial (raising of the flag at Iwo Jima) and one of my personal favorites, The Lone Sailor. These are just a few of the memorials dedicated to our members of the Armed Forces. There were also many battle during the Civil War, where most of our ancestors had fought. There was the Battle of Shiloh (Pittsburg Landing), Battle of Bull Run, Battle of Fort Sumter and we must not forget the Battle of Gettysburg. These are just a few of the many battle fought during the Civil War. We must not forget our ancestors that fought, what I consider, the most important war in American History, and that is the Revolutionary War... our ancestors battle for freedom from England.
