This stave mill was located south of the old Strode Field, south of Mossville not far from
Jim Thomas's place, and closer yet to Garrett Thomas's home. It was a few hundred yards from the
site of the old Ches and Wyman Saw Mill that ceased operation in 1918. The stave mill pictured
above, was in operation for a little over two years.

Preston Smith son of William Smith and Amanda Thomas, husband of Grace Thomas.
Hugh Champlin, first wife was Mary Orlena Bullins, second wife was Lou Edgmon.
Lloyd Thomas was son of James Thomas and Lizzie Harl, married Florence King.
Garrett Smith was son of William Smith and Amanda Thomas, husband of Rentha Thomas.
Albert Thomas was son of James Thomas and Lizzie Harl, married Laura Sandlin.
Fiday Manis lived with Letha Gibson while working at the mill.
Ches Reed was son of Sherman and Laura Reed, married Effie Cowen.
Tom Thomas, was a Cole, son of Mary Thomas, husband of Arrie Belle Thomas.
Henry Edgmon was the son of Lum Edgmon and Darcus Sams, married Mary Sparks.
Leo Smith was the son of Preston Smith and Grace Thomas, married Ella Watson.
