NewtonCoFamilies Mailing List

Book Round Guidelines

1. Name and Mailing Address of owner must appear inside front cover of book.
2. To be included in the Book Round, you must be a member of this mailing list.
3. Persons interested in including their book/books in the Book Round need to:

a. Send a message to the NewtonCoFamilies Mailing List, stating that you
have a book to include in the Round...state book title and author, number
of pages, and a brief description of book. Your book title will then be
given a Round # and placed on the Book Round List.
When a request to read your book appears on the NewtonCoFamilies mailing list,
you will receive an email from the list moderator notifying you of such. You
   will then need to:
b. Package the book in a fashion in which you would like the book handled for
mailings throughout the Round and include any additional instructions on
the care and handling of your book.
note: Smaller books can be wrapped in newspaper and mailed in an envelope.
Larger books should be mailed in a box that can be re-used by others.
It could be wet or raining somewhere along the way...as a safe guard,
you might also wrap your book in plastic for protection.
c. Print and enclose with book these guidelines, as well as the Round List
If the list does not include additional recipients, instruct the receiving
party that, upon their prompt reading of the book, they shall post a
message to the mailing list (NewtonCoFamilies@prodigy.net), stating that
they are finished reading the book (Identified by Title and Round #) and
state that they are ready to send it out.
If a new request for the book appears on the list within three days following
that posting, the person will be instructed to send to that requesting party.
Otherwise, they will be instructed to return to you, the owner of the book.
e. Next, pay BOOK RATE mailing cost and send to person identified in the
   1. position under title of your book on the Book Round List.
f. SEND an email to the Book Tracking System, stating title and Round #
of book, the date mailed and name of person that you mailed book to.
4. The person receiving the book shall take note of how the book is packaged and shall read any notes from the book owner that may be enclosed. And shall honor the opportunity which the book owner has made available. That recipient shall then PROMPTLY email Book Tracking System and state date that they received the book. The recipient shall be as prompt as possible in reading the book.
5. Upon completion, the recipient shall prepare the book for mailing. And shall follow all packaging instructions that the book owner may have specified and shall include such specifications in the package that they prepare. And that person shall be guided by any applicable portions of items b. through e. listed above. And shall SEND an email to the Book Tracking System, stating title and Round # of book, the date mailed and name of person that you mailed book to.
6. Once a book has made the Round to all interested parties, the person in possession of the book will pay BOOK RATE cost and return the book to the owner.
8. The book will then be back in possession with the owner.
