For Hamilton Crockett 's children I show

Judy,
I have not attempted getting records out of Arkansas, however in Michigan I wrote to the prision itself and they sent me info on the man I had requested information on, but I did have the date he was convicted. Is there anything left of Tuckers Farm? The County that Lovell was sentenced in should have court papers also.

Charlene,
Can you tell me if your 1936 map of Newton County shows known graves that are not in a cemetery? I saw a more current map that did so, but you could not tell it was not a cemetery as the symbol for the lone grave and a cemetery were the same. Non the less, it was very helpful. There were some headstones that were removed from a field in the 1940's, I believe it was, is why I ask if your 1936 map might show them.

I hope to get that book soon. But I also found a good site which will maka a map of anyplace in the USA for you. It is really great, you can make it zoom in close or out to cover a very large area. I had it make one of Erbie, as well as several other small places that my people are from, like Swain, Nail, and Limestone. Here is the URL to the one for Erbie:

And here is the one for the main site, and you can pick your location:

Have fun!

Judy,
Thank you for answering Ed's question on the spelling of Samarah's name. The only thing I really have is a photograph of her headstone and that only confuses things as it is spelled Samirah. (?) Thanks again.

Topic: Jasper Class of 1935

Hi all
I have a picture taken about 1935 of a Jasper High School Class in Newton County. If my date is right this is the graduating class of 1935. This was when my mother graduated. She is in the back row of this picture second from the right. Does anyone have an old yearbook for Jasper High School of 1935? I would love to be able to identify the others in this picture, and would be glad to share the picture. My mother was Nancy Edith Phillips, daughter of Roscoe and Angie Phillips.

Topic: Daughter of Maude Sparks

Patricia,
A daughter of Maude Sparks and Jim Williams was buried at Shiloh Cemetery in Newton County yesterday. I had called a cousin to ask about the picture of Flora Sparks, she said that Ivory Watson had been sick for a long time and had died on Saturday. Ivory was daughter of Maude Sparks and Jim Williams, born January 11, 1910...was wife of George Watson. She was 90, George will be 91 on Christmas day...

Nancy Jane,
I would gladly find a place for the marriage records you mentioned. If the info is text that you can copy and paste into an email do so. If the info is in form of scanned image, please send to me one per email attachment. Once I see what form the information appears in, I can then decide how to put it/where to put it on the site. Let me hear.

Dear Judy,
I am sorry to hear about Ivory passing, but to be honest I figured she had passed away some time ago. I met Ivory when I was in junior high, but my folks knew her well, in fact I may have a picture of her (not sure). Thanks for letting me know and have a very happy holidays.
May God bless you,

Patricia,
Have added a picture to the scrapbook of Ivory as a little girl, with other family members. The same picture is in Old Folks Talking...I do not have all, but do have many of the pictures found in Old Folks Talking...If you or anyone else know of pictures in the book that you would like to have, if I have them I'd be happy to send to anyone. I am related to Ivory through Sparks blood, and to her husband George through Watson blood...his dad was Flemon Watson...Flemon was brother to my Willie Watson. Dear Judy,
I thought I had a picture of Ivory, so here it is, the men with her are George Watson and either Troy or Throy Watson this was taken in May 1979 by my parents. I also have a tax document from 1917 if you would be interested in it, it was taxes I believe John Peterson Sparks paid on his property. Going to Las Vegas, Nevada in the a.m. for Christmas with some of the family. Have a nice one.

Patricia,
Thanks for sending the picture of Ivory...the other man that you thought was either Troy or Thoy is Troy Watson, her son...he was named after Troy Watson, son of Willie Watson. Yes, I'd like to see the 1917 document that you mentioned of John Peterson Sparks. Patricia, be safe and have fun while in Las Vegas.

Judy,

What relation is John Peterson Sparks to Peter Peterson Barnard? Peter is the son of Rachel Sparks, whose parents are Richard Sparks and Sarah Peterson.
Thanks,
Georgia

Topic: Re:Sparks/Peterson

John Peterson Sparks was son of Hiram C. Sparks and Talitha Scarbrough...Hiram C. Sparks was son of Richard Sparks and Sarah Peterson. As you mentioned, Peter Peterson Barnard was son of Rachel Sparks, daughter of same Richard Sparks and Sarah Peterson....Hiram C. Sparks and Rachel Sparks Barnard were brother and sister...so John Peterson Sparks and Peter Peterson Barnard would be first cousins...right? Gets confusssssing, huh! Let me send this on its way before I think too hard :o)
