My Grandma Eunice

I am Eunice (Thomas) Arnold's oldest grandchild. My grandma died in 1972 when I was 33 years old. For years, I tried to get information about her past from her, but she didn’t like talking about it much.

The few things I can remember her telling me:

She told me about her family having a traveling minstrel show. They traveled around Arkansas during the summer months, when she was a teen. All family members played muscial instruments in the show. I don't know how many years the minstrel show traveled.

She also told me about going and visiting her Cherokee Indian Grandma or Great Grandma, I do not remember which it was...she remembered that there were dirt floors in the house.

Grandma also told me she was ¼ Cherokee Indian, but had never been able to prove it.

Just before she died, she gave me the name of her mother and father.

That is all that I had to start with, to trace our Thomas roots.
