She was also buried Sandhill Cemetery. John's second wife was Catherine. She was born April 18, 1822, died July 12, 1890 in Newton County, Arkansas. She was also buried in Sand Hill Cemetery.

He first married Milly Wharton, August 5, 1847 Lawrence County, Tennessee. Second marriage was to Cansada Duncan, some time during the Civil War. She was born February 2, 1840 in Arkansas, died September 18, 1876, also buried in Sandhill Cemetery, Newton County, Arkansas. Third marriage was to Sylvania Newman November 6, 1877 in Newton County, Arkansas.

2. William Siegel Spears was born February 19, 1828 in Bedford, Bedford County, died May 14, 1916 Newton County, Arkansas, also buried Sandhill Cemetery at Yardell. William married Mary Green Dickens March 17, 1847 in Newton County. She was born January 6, 1830 Tennessee, died July 12, 1902 Newton County, Arkansas, buried Sandhill Cemetery

3. Sarah Ann Spears was born February 21, 1829 in Tennessee, died in March of 1897.

4. Samuel Houston Spears was born February 23, 1833 in Bedford County, Tennessee, died June 6, 1902 Western Grove, Newton County, Arkansas. Samuel married Elizabeth Ann Robinson November 15, 1857 at Marshall Prairie in Newton County. She was daughter of James Robinson. Born June 5, 1839 in Tennessee, died March 15, 1923.

5. Thomas Jefferson Spears was born January 6, 1834 in Bedford County, Tennessee, died in October of 1908 in Oklahoma.

6. Pleasant Houston Spears was born March 3, 1836 in Tennessee.

7. Mellie Jane Spears was born June 5, 1838 in Bedford County, Tennessee, died May 23, 1871 in Newton County, Arkansas. Mellie was married to John M. Wilburn, born 1827 in Alabama. She also married John A. Mason.

8. Elizabeth Ann Spears was born November 29, 1841 in Carroll County, Arkansas, died May 23, 1917 Newton County, Arkansas. Elizabeth married Archibald McDougal in Newton County on October 3, 1858. He was born August 11, 1838 in Alabama, died February 2, 1924 in Newton County, Arkansas, buried Sandhill Cemetery.

9. Susan Agnes Spears was born February 1, 1844 in Carroll County, Arkansas.
