Ronald C. Edgmon Obituary


Ronald Clarence Edgmon, 65, of Gravette, Arkansas died January 20, 1984 at the Gravette Medical Center. He was born December 16, 1919 in Mossville, the son of Leither and Daisy Watson Edgmon.

He was employed at the Gravette Shelling Plant. He was the Gravette Fire Chief for several years. He served three terms on the City Council. He was a member of the American Legion and a Police Commissioner. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. He had lived in this area since returning from military service in 1946.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Spencer Edgmon of the home; five brothers, Harvey Edgmon of Gravette, Franklin Edgmon of Loveland, Colorado, Berlin Edgmon of Bentonville, Arkansas, Sidney Edgmon of Houston, Texas, Winston Edgmon of Woodbridge, Virginia; three sisters, Carrie Boling of Hiwassee, Maxine Haney of Wichita, Kansas and Eddie Bailey of Chinle, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and the Rev. Tommy Haley officiating. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangments are by Burns Funeral Home of Bentonville. Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
