The Rev. Raymond "Glen" Sparks, 49, of Springdale died Jan. 21, 2000, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born Feb. 16, 1950, in Mossville to Clarence and Velma Edgmon Sparks.
He was employed by Tyson Foods. He was a member of the United Baptist Church of Springdale, serving as a deacon before being called into the ministry. He served as minister for the United Baptist Association for 24 years and as an evangelist.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Carter Sparks of Springdale; three sons, Steven Sparks, Daniel Sparks and Mark Sparks, all of Springdale; two brothers, Eugene Sparks of Elm Springs and Dorlin Sparks of Mossville; five sisters, Juanita Wood of Wesley, Jewell Dean Sparks of Springdale, Nina Lee Rylee of Jasper, Nadine Huber of Kingston and Bonnie Fay Main of Lowell; several nieces and nephews.
Services held at the United Baptist Church in Springdale with Bobby Young and Alvin Reynolds officiating. Graveside service held at Lower Campground Cemetery in Kingston.
