| Comments: | John Marple, b June 17, 1818 in Honeybrook Twp. Chester Co., PA was the son of Joseph Marple, b April 16, 1779, and Hannah Grier, b October 10, 1781, of Honeybrook Twp. Chester Co., OA John Marple was raised in Philadelpha, PA and was graduate of the medical center there. He moved to Arkansas and had a medical practice near Mt. Judea and Cave Creek where he met and married Rebecca Young. Rebecca was born about 1850 near Mt. Judea. There were three children born to John and Rebecca, a daughter who died at a young age, Angeline, bornMarch 12, 1864, Samuel, born March 08, 1872. Angeline married Larkin Nichols and Samuel married Ada Wright or Nichols. I would like to know which was Ada's maiden name. Dr. John was buried beside the young daughter between Mt. Judea and Cave Creek near Lick Springs. Any information would be deeply appreciated. Thank you, Barbara |

| Comments: | I am doing research on the Dr. John Marple of Newton County AR but I am at a dead end. Hopefully you may have some information in your Nichols file that may help. Dr. John Marple was born in Honeybrook Chester Co., PA June 17, 1818. He married Rebecca Young, born Abt. 1850, in Mt. Judea, AR. They had 4 children, John, Angeline, Samuel and a daughter that died at the age of 8. Angeline married Larkin Nichols. Samuel married Ada (not sure of maiden name, could have been Nichols or Wright). Samuel and Ada were married in Mt. Judea about 1896. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Barbara |

| Comments: | In the book "Old Folks Talking" by Jim Liles, the following statement is made on page 323: Elsie Self Casey explained her Native American blood: the mother of Elsie's grandfather, Tom Self, was a Cherokee woman named Sexton, according to family history. I am trying to prove my Native American heritage through my Sexton line. Does anybody know who Elsie's ancestors were in this Self/Sexton line? I personally spoke with Elsie about 18 months ago and I regret to say that she just could not remember her ancestors but at 92 years of age she's forgiven. A sister was also contacted but to no avail. The book does state that Elsie was a Sparks. This is in error. It should read that she was a Self. Again, any information would be greatly appreciated.
