Name: Betty Renfroe <brenfroe@cswnet.com>
Date: 2000-08-07
Requested Surname: Reeves
Full name, if known, of husband: William Reeves
Full maiden name, if known, of wife: Sophia Louise Mayberry
Comments:
Judy, I am trying to figure out who William Reeves is. He was born in 1867, according to most sourses. He married Sophia Lou Mayberry, dau. of David and Susannah Criner Mayberry. she was a little older than he. Bill Reeves always said he was born in Boone Co. Ar. I am wondering if he is a son of James Reeves and Nancy Dodson/Dotson,and a brother to Christopher Reeves. A family story was passed down that Bill was half Indian. Don't know if it has any basis. Bill and Lou Reeves ended up in Hanna, Ok in the later part of their lives. Hope you can help me clear up who he is. He should be on a 1870 AR. census, but i can't find him.

I have a website
My Newton county families will be under the renfroe/standridge/hensley tree. i have a my family
site for these families also.
Additional
i have the first 4 generations of all the Standridges in C. L. Boyd's Standridge Book in my program.......C. L. uses a number system for generations and this means up to 4 in the book, i have typed into family tree maker. It's a huge book and I have worked at this. Someday, I hope to get 5, then 6, and onward on the book. My husband was raised by Ada Standridge Renfroe, and she is a daughter of the ole moonshiner, Howard Standridge, and Howard is the son of Lemuel and Peggy Standridge.

Betty

Requested Surname: Jones
Full name, if known, of husband: David Mayberry
Full maiden name, if known, of wife: Mariah Jones
Comments:
Judy, I am trying to figure out what Jones family Mariah Jones Mayberry belongs to. She was born in 1832. I think in Mo. I have found sources that claim she is a dau. to Solomon Jones and a sister to Lemuel R. Jones. But I think there is a chance she is the dau. of David Jones Jr. and Elizabeth Flood. I cant find her on the 1850 ar. census and do not have access to all of tx. censuses. David Jones jr. was a brother to Simon JOnes who married Mary Page. DAvid married Elizabeth Flood, sister of Nathan Flood. DAvid Jones moved to Grayson co Tx. about 1850. Solomon Jones is said to have died in Newton Co. ar. but i can not find him on any of the newton co censuses. Could you help me with this. thanks. betty

my husband is a great grandson of Howard Standridge, but that is another story.

Requested Surname: Case
Full name, if known, of husband: Andrew Jackson Case went by Jackson Case
Full maiden name, if known, of wife: Lucinda Watkins, & Clara Ann Edwards,
Comments:
I was wondering if you could help us out. We have been searching for my husbands gggrandpa Andrew Jackson Case for over 7 years now. He was born June 15,1830 in either Iowa or Illinios. He had been married 7 different times and had 33 children (told to us by his grandkids before they died.) We know he was in Newton County in 1870 when he married LUCINDA WATKINS, then we found him again with his last wife CLARA ANN EDWARDS. He has a headstone in Case Cemetary in Fallsville. That simply reads "Jackson Case Compay C 1st AR Infantry." Clara is there also. Along with several children. But where did Lucinda go? And do you have any information that would definatly say which children goes with which wife. Listed now is his wives and children (as we know it): MARY ANN WALKER Clark County, MO, NANCY MUIR Ripley, Indiana, ELLEN FRANCIS MYERS Ripley Indiana, LUCINDA WATKINS Newton County, AR, (Possibly an ABIGAIL PRICE Portor, Indiana) and CLARA ANN EDWARDS Newton County, AR. These were his wives and the county they were married. Here are the children 1.ANDREW 1860 Ripley, Indiana 2.INDEPENDENCE 1864-1865 3.FRANCIS Nov. 8,1867 Lee, IOWA 4. ANDREW J. 1868 5.CHARLES S. 1869 6.(possibly) KATHERINE Feb.15,1874 Porter, Indiana 7. ALFRED TILDON March 16,1877 8. EMMA 9.JASPER NEWTON 10. JESSE 11.JOHN 12. THOMAS 13. WILLIAM 14.WILLIAM CLAYTON June 20,1880 AR 15. RUTHFORD B. May 29,1882 -buried at Case Cemetary died 17 1/2 yrs. 16. JOSHUA ISSAC Dec. 16,1884 -buried at Case Cemetary with his wife 17. ROBERT A. Oct. 24,1887 -buried at Case Cemetary died as an infant 18. MARTHA EVELYN Oct.1889 19. JASPER N. (JAPE) Sept.1891 20. MARY B. 1893 21. JESSIE M. (J.M.) July 1897 and 22. WALTER Nov. 13,1900 buried at Case Cemetary. From Ruthford on down to Walter we are almost 100% that these are in the right birth order and are all Jackson and Clara's. And was all born in the Newton County area. The rest is a question of who and whom. We found that Jackson received land patent on several different times, this is where the Case Cemetary is now. Also his sons Andrew J. and William Clayton got patents right beside thier Dad's. ANY information would be of great appreciation. Andrew Jackson Case has been very hard to find, but one day we will find everyone and connect the family together. Oh, before I go, Jackson's son Joshua Issac (Josh) was our great grandpa he was also a Sheriff's deputy in Newton County so if you have any information on him that would be appreciated too. Please e-mail us and let us know if there is anything you have that we could correspond. Greatly looking forward to hearing from you.
