| Requested Surname: | Henderson |
| Full name, if known, of husband: | Newton Lonnie (Alonzo) Skaggs |
| Full maiden name, if known, of wife: | Emmeline Henderson |
| Comments: | Judy, I'm in search of my grandmother's line in Newton County. Emmeline(Emmie, Emma, Emiline)Henderson's father was Will (William?) C. Henderson. She was born ca Dec 15, 1885. Her mother was either Sarah Johnson or Sarah McGowen, there seems to be a disagreement here and even those surnames may be wrong! YIKES! In any case, I'm trying to locate the correct Will or William C. Henderson and related info. There is a James Henderson with a son Will C. and daughter Emmeline (suspiciously close) but I personally am unable to make a good connection. If you can help, I would appreciate it greatly! | Requested Surname: | Hampton |
| Full name, if known, of husband: | James (Jim) |
| Full maiden name, if known, of wife: | Lucritia (Creasy) Cooper |
| Comments: | I found Lucritia Cooper Hampton Houston in the Newton County Cemetery Book when I was in AR two weeks ago. The book said that she was married to first Jim Hampton, and then to Houston. My grandmother Lucy Hampton Casey's two children are buried in the same "Lone Hill Cemetery". Lucy's mother and father were Isaac (Ike) Hampton and Mary Jane Adams (Owens) Hampton. I have Ike and Mary Jane's marriage certificate, but nothing else about them, as they both died when my grandmother Lucy was a child, after the 1880 census and before the 1900 census. She was then raised by the Owens along with her half brothers and sister. I have been looking for Ike's parents for over a year now and am hoping that the Jim Hampton, who supposidly died in the civil war, is my 3rd great grandfather & that Lucretia is my 34d great grand mother. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. |
