The following obituary notice for Alanson Edgerton appeared in the Lapeer Clarion on Friday, August 3, 1894 (transcript courtesy of Diane Hosler):

 

“Died Sunday July 29 at his home in Orion, Elanson [sic] Edgerton formerly of this place.  The funeral occurred Tuesday afternoon.”

 

Mrs. Mary L. Edgerton was recorded in the household of her son-in-law, Will H. Watson, in the 1900 Federal Census of Orion, Oakland County, Michigan (pg. 89; dwelling #30; family #30; enum. June 2, 1900).  The family was enumerated as follows:
