Grantees of Lots Annexed from Buxton


     Narraganset No. 1 (now Buxton, Maine) was granted to
Philemon Dana and 119 others on October 17, 1733 for service in
King Philip's War. The First Division (also called home lots)
were recorded on November 24, 1735. The list of the Second
Division was recorded after minutes of the Proprietors' Meeting
held on November 8, 1738. The lots in this division had to be
drawn prior to the last Tuesday of May, 1765. The list for the
Fourth Division was entered into the records on November 27,
1789. The lots listed below were later annexed to Standish.
If anyone can identify any of the unknown people, please advise

In 1824, Josiah Paine, Josiah Berry and Jonathan Moore settled in the part of Buxton annexed to Standish. Thus, they must have owned some of these lots.
