(Haverhill MA, The author, 1861 Stone & Huse, book printers), One Benjamin Heath reference in book. pp 310-312 "A List of Polls and rateable Real Estate and Personal for the Town of Haverhill in the County of Essex, Taken in the year 1741. There are seven Heaths listed on p 311 as follows: John Heath, James Heath, David Heath, James Heath Jur, Richard Heath--then Jonathan Hutchins, Thomas Hall, then Benjamin Heath. [Note he would not be the Heath born in 1738, but likely the one born in 4/4/1713 who was the son of John Heath and Frances Hutchins] Farther down on the page is Caleb Heath. On p 312 are several more Heaths. The index has 21 Heaths. Notes filed under Unrelated Heaths tab Benjamin Heath notebook. COULD THIS MAN BE OUR BENJAMIN'S FATHER? Note also that there are many references to John Heath. This Benjamin is son of John Heath. Notes filed in Benjamin Heath notebook, Unrelated Heaths tab. (4) Rockingham Co NH Grantor Index 1643-1814 (FHL US/CAN Film 0016228), 5 1/2 pages of Heath grantors including 29 Heath surnames as grantees and one grantee Wyman (1779). Two transactions in 1745 between Benjamin Heath Richard Heath (full record copied). Index copied and filed in Unrelated Heaths master notebook. No deeds for our Benjamin. (5) Grafton Co NH Grantee Index 1773-1850 (FHL US/CAN Film 0015790), No Benjamin Heath, I copied the index for first name "J". Filed in Unrelated Heaths master notebook. There are 2 typed pages for Joshua Heath bt 1793-1798 all in Bk 22 pp 69-81, including 12 in Chatham, one of which is a purchase from Benj Leavitt, p 72, Jan 12, 1796. This is most interesting since Joshua obviously knew our Benjamin Heath family. Remember Mildred Heath is positive there was no relationship between Joshua and Benjamin and there are no cemetery or land or vital records to establish any relationship. (6) 1790 Federal Census, Rockingham Co NH (www.rays-place.com/census/rockingham-6.htm), Lists 2 Benjamin Heaths, one in Hampstead (likely the man born 1713 but could be the man born 1749 in Canterbury, the other in Centerbury (Canterbury) who is most likely the man born 1738 since his parents, brother, Caleb, one of his sons, Simon, and his younger brother Jonathan is listed on the same and following page. Note that Jonathan had a child in Canterbury in 1778 in Canterbury (Our Family Legacy, p 297). (7) 1742 New Hampshire Census (NH State Archives), I reviewed the ORIGINAL archive pages which are filed township by township. Note that Rumford NH later became Concord NH. The only Heaths in this census are in Haverhill. There are Heaths on pp 1-5 which I copied. p. 1 has Benjamin Heath along with James and 2 John. p. 2 has Josiah, Rochard, Caleb Heath plus Robert Emerson whose widow Benjamin, b. 1713, later married. p 3 has James, Joseph, Nathaniel, David, William plus many surname Page. p. 4 has Samuel and p. 5 has Nehemiah. Note also that there were 5 Martin surnames in Newcastle: edward, John, John Jr., Edward Jr, and Jonathan. page copied.
