This deed transfer's 80 acres of the original 320 acres that Barnet acquired in 1854 to Henry Peter Fry Sept. 2, 1874. Barnet, over a number of years transferred 80 acres to each of his 4 surviving children. One child Jacob was killed as a union soldier in the Civil War. His oldest son Charles seems to have disappeared after the 1850 census.

This indenture made this the second day of September one thousand eight hundred and seventy four between Barnett Fry and Nancy his wife of the County of St. Genevieve and State of Missouri of the first part and Henry Fry of the same place of the second part witnesseth that the said party of the first part and Henry Fry of the same place of the second part witnesseth that the said party of the first part for any consideration of the sum of $80 lawful money of the United States to them duly paid before the delivery hereof hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant and convey to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all that certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County of St. Genevieve and State of Missouri and which is known and described as follows to wit the South West quarter of the North West quarter in the North West quarter of the South West quarter of section number 5 in Township No. 36 of Range No. 7 East containing 80 acres more are less together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances and all the estate, title and interest of the said party of the first part therein and the said party of the first part doth hereby covenant and agree with the said party of the second part that at the time of the delivery hereof the said party of the first part is the lawful owners of the premises above granted and seized thereof in fee Simple absolute and that they will warrant and defend the above granted premises in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever.

This day of September in the year of our Lord 1874 before the undersigned a Justice of the Peace within and for said County personally appeared Barnet Fry and Nancy his wife personally known to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing deed as parties thereto and acknowledged that they executed the same for the purposes therein mentioned and the said Nancy being by me examined apart from her husband and made fully acquainted with the contents of the foregoing deed acknowledged that she executed the same and relinquished the dower in the real estate therein mentioned freely and without fear compulsion or undo influence of her said husband.
