What follows is an email I sent to Virginia regarding the data she sent about the Moravian Frey's. She has gone a long way toward answering the question of the Robertson County Frey's. I have also included her email response.

Hi Virginia,

First, thanks a million for the file on Johan Valentine Frey. I've

attempted to correlate the file against the 10 Frey's in the Robertson

County 1850 census. This is what I find along with a couple of

questions.

Looking at generation 3 item 20, Henry C. Frey ( Does the C. stand for

Charles) and comparing it to the 1850 census:

I identify 1)G.W. Frey age 30 with G. W. Frey (George Washington Frey),

2) Henry Frey age 72 with Henry C. Frey, 3) Henry S. Frey age 38 with

Henry Frey, 4) Martin P. Frey age 25 with Martin Frey, 5) Thomas Frey

age 29 with Thomas B. Frey and 6) Willie F. age 24 in the household of

Henry C. Frey age 72. I could not correlate the remaining Frey's in the

1850 census with the household of Henry C. The remaining Frey's in the

1850 census are 1) Adam H. age 40, James P. age 33, Peter age 57, Susan

age 60, and Volantine.

I believe Volantine is the same as the Val in the 1840 census. The 1)

Jacob age 60 to 70, 2) John age 60-70, 4) Peter in the household of a

female age 50 to 60, and 4) Peter age 40 to 50 are not shown in the 1850

census. The John age 60 to 70 I'm guessing is the same John age 70,

that shows up in the 1850 Mo. census. I do see a John N. or A. age 20 &

under 30 in the 1830 Robertson County census. Could this be same as the

John M. I see in your data? The age range seems to fit. The N and A.

are difficult to read in the 1830 census.

Unless I overlooked something, I see your data shows the descendents of

Johan Michael Frey. Is it fair to guess the unidentified Freys shown in

the 1840 census and not in the 1850 census are descendents of a

brother(s) of Johan Michael?

Please forgive me for raising the foregoing questions but your data has

been so enlightening for me that I hoped you may have some subsidiary

data. And, I have "naming patterns" for the 17 and 18 hundreds. If you

would like a copy I'd be glad to send it.

With your permission I'll post your data on my Robertson County URL.

Ed,

It's fine with me if you want to post any of the FREY information on the web

page. After hearing from you yesterday, I ran the images of the 1850

Robertson Co. Census. I specifically looked for the children of Henry C.

FREY.

Martin P. FREY age 25 is not the son of Henry C. FREY. I cannot identify

Martin P. FREY's father. Henry's son Martin was born in 1807. He and his

first wife Thursa CROCKETT are listed on p. 120 of the 1850 Robertson Co.

Census along with their children.

I do not know the relationship of the other FREY's in Robertson Co. TN to

the family information that I sent you and I do not want to speculate on

their origin. My Grandmother Hadley's records do not indicate that other

brothers came to TN. However there were several of the Moravian families

who did move to Robertson Co. TN. A good deed search at the court house in

Springfield might prove helpful.

You may want to check the Moravian records and some of the county web sites

in NC in the areas near Winston Salem NC where the Moravian's settled. I

think that you will find some of this information on the Stokes and Forsyth

Co. sites.

Good luck with your search.
