Barnets 320 acres - His first land acquisition in Missouri



To all to whom these presents shall come greeting:

Whereas, Barnet Fry of St. Francois County, Missouri has deposited in the General Land Office of the United States, a Certificate of the Register of the Land Office at Jackson whereby it appears that Full Payment has been made by the said Barnet Fry according to the provisions of the Act of Congress of the 24th of April, 1820, entitled "An Act making further provisions for the sale of the public lands," for the West half; and the North East quarter of the South West quarter, and the Lot numbered One of the North West quarter of Section Five, and the East half of the Lot numbered One of the North East quarter, and the East half of the South East quarter of Section Six in Township Thirty Six North of Range Seven East in the District of Lands Subject to sale at Jackson Missouri, containing to Three Hundred and Twenty acres according to the Official Plat of the Survey of the said Lands, returned to the General Land Office by the Surveyor General, which said Tracts has been purchased by the said Barnet Fry.



Now know ye, That the United States of America, in consideration of the premises, and in conformity with the several Acts of Congress in such case made and provided, Have Given and Granted, and by these presents Do Give and Grant, unto the said Barnet Fry and to his heirs, the said Tract above described; To Have and to Hold the same, together with all the rights, privileges, immunities, and appurtenances, of whatsoever nature, hereunto belonging, unto the said Barnett Fry into his heirs and assigns forever.

In Testimony whereof, I, James Buchanan President of the United States of America, have caused these letters to be made Patent, and the seal of the General Land Office to be hereunto affixed.

County of Ste Genevieve In the Recorder's Office



I, Herman Kochler Recorder of Deeds within and for the county aforesaid do certify that the instrument of writing hereto to attached with the certificate thereon, was filed for record in said office on the 16th day of February 1895 at 3:00 and 40 minutes P.M., and that the same is duly recorded in said office in book "50" for recording Deeds at pages 29 and 30.
