This deed identifies the 229 acres that Barnet Fry bought in 1857. It was next to the 320 acres that he bought in 1854. Note:  Barnet acquired the the 320 acres by patent in 1854 and  the deed was recorded in or 1857 due to heavy workload by the land office.
 

This Indenture made and entered into this 3rd day of August One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Seven between George Whitt and Amanda his wife in and of the County of St. Genevieve and State of Missouri of the first part and Barnet Fry of County and State aforesaid of the second part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to them in hand paid before the delivery hereof hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell and convey to the said party of the second part blank into his heirs and assigns forever being Lot No 1 of the North West quarter and the Lot No 2 of the North East quarter of Section No five in Township number 36 North of Range 7 East containing 229 acres and 73/100, being and lying in the County of St. Genevieve, State of Missouri lands entered at Jackson Missouri taken with all and Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging blank in anywise to appertaining therein and the said party of the first part doth hereby covenant and agree with the said party of the second part that at the time of the delivery hereof the said party of the first part is the lawful owner of the premises and lands herein described in fee simple absolute and that they will warrant and defend the above granted premises in the quiet and peacable possession of the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever.
 

In Testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and date before written with our hands and seals this 3rd day of August 1857.

Be it remembered that on the third day of August in the year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Seven before Wm. H. Pinkston a Justice of the Peace in forsaid County personally appeared George Whitt and Amandy his wife to me personally known to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing be as parties thereto and acknowledged that they executed the same for the purposes therein mentioned and the said Amandy Whitt being by me examined apart from her husband and made acquainted with the contents of said deed and acknowledged that she executed this same and relinquished her dower in the real estate therein mentioned without fear, compulsion or undo influence of her said husband.
