43. Hosea⁴ Presley (Anthony³ Preslar, Hans Jurie² Pressler, Johannes Valentin¹) was born in South Carolina between 1790 and 1800. Hosea died about 1848 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana.

It is an assumed only, at present, that Hosea Presley was a son of Anthony Presley, pending further research and evidence to clarify the situation.  Interested persons should subscribe to the Lousiana-Presleys mailing list for further information.

He married twice. He married Lovely Word in Alabama. Lovely was born 16 August 1802 in North Carolina. Lovely died 24 November 1866 in Bellwood, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. He married an unknown person.

He married Jennea (Jane) Preslar about 1788. Jennea was born 9 April 1769 in North Carolina. Jennea died 12 June 1844 in Chester County, South Carolina.  Her body was interred Smith Chapel Cemetery in Chester County, South Carolina.

John was the son of Ambrose Lee and Frances Whealer. John died 8 April 1886. His body was interred Armenia Methodist Church in Chester County, South Carolina.

He married Abiah Tift. Abiah was born 15 September 1779 in Vermont. Abiah was the daughter of John Tift.

Her body was interred in Wonewoc, Juneau County, Wisconsin. She married Ludlow P. Hill 1 January 1821 in Jefferson County, New York. Ludlow was born 6 August 1794 in Old Simsbury, Hartford County, Connecticut. Ludlow died 12 July 1873 in Wonewoc, Juneau County, Wisconsin. His body was interred in Wonewoc, Juneau County, Wisconsin.

146 ii. Jane Pressler was born 26 April 1798. She married John A. Dunlap. John was born 1796.

147 iii. Wessey Pressler was born 7 December 1800.

149 v. Thomas Pressler was born 21 November 1801. Thomas died probably before 1839.

150 vi. Joseph Pressler was born 8 June 1804. He married Charlotte Hollinbeck.

151 vii. John Pressler was born 14 June 1806. John died 9 October 1859 in Rowdin Township, Ontario, Canada. His body was interred John Spry Settlement Cemetery in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. He married Sarah Anne Johnson 27 January 1829 in Jefferson County, New York. Sarah died 25 October 1886 in Boylston, Oswego County, New York.

152 viii. Matthew Pressler was born in Charlton, Saratoga County, New York 26 August 1808. Matthew died 27 October 1890 in Boylston, Oswego County, New York. His body was interred Wesleyan Cemetery in Sandy Creek, Saratoga County, New York. He married Asenath Hollis 30 December 1830 in Orwell, Oswego County, New York. Asenath was born 20 July 1806 in Richland, Oswego County, New York. Asenath was the daughter of Joshua Hollis and Betsey Adams. Asenath died 14 April 1887 in Boylston, Oswego County, New York. Her body was interred Wesleyan Cemetery in Sandy Creek, Saratoga County, New York.

153 ix. William Hawkins Pressler was born in New York 23 February 1811. William died 16 July 1852 while crossing the plains to the Gre. He married twice. He married Eleanor H. Johnson 1834. Eleanor died circa 1846 in Nauvoo, Hancock County, Illinois. He married Margaret Holden. Margaret was born 4 August 1809 in Wheelton, Lancashire, England. Margaret died 7 April 1873 in Huntsville, Weber County, Utah.

154 x. Amanda Pressler was born 11 March 1813. She married Jeremiah Taylor. Jeremiah was born 1811 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut. Jeremiah was the son of Grove C. Taylor and Betsey Winslow. Jeremiah died circa 1886 in Ohio.

155 xi. Sarah Pressler was born in Jefferson County, New York 10 May 1815. Sally died 19 January 1893. Her body was interred Pekin Cemetery in Orwell, Oswego County, New York. She married William Sherman Colvin February 1834.

156 xii. Hiram Sherman Pressler was born "near Lake Champlain", New York 6 November 1818. Hiram died 27 October 1912 in Woodville, Jefferson County, New York. His body was interred Evergreen Cemetery in Adams, Jefferson County, New York. He married Mary M. Shears 1842. Polly was born 16 March 1824 in New Hoosic, Rennselaer County, New York. Polly was the daughter of Smith Shears and Polly Handy. Polly died 3 October 1912. Her body was interred Evergreen Cemetery in Adams, Jefferson County, New York.

157 xiii. Betsey L. Pressler was born in Jefferson County, New York 17 June 1824. She married three times. She married Morgan. She married Henry Montondo. She married Dingman.
