You folks may recall that I had my CostelloDNA analyzed by the FamilyTreeDNA organization & that they, in their data base, had identified 30 people who had the same DNA as I do. I e-mailed these 30, or so, people with a complete history of the Costello's as I have it; I received responses from 6. There was nothing in the responses of the 6 that would indicate any connection to the Costello's, no name connection, no location connection, no family history connection.
According to the FamilyTreeDNA organization:
"An exact match has been found between you and another person(s) in the Family Tree DNA database. You and the other person(s) have matched in all loci, which means that there is a 99.9% likelihood that you have a common ancestor. If you and your match share a "prior" item of knowledge, such as a common surname, then there is a 50% likelihood that the common ancestor is within the last 7 generations and 90% within the last 23 generations. If not, then the common ancestor is probably closer to the 48 generations."
It appears that the 6 people noted above may be "connected" to the Costello's some 48 or more generations ago. Which is far beyond my 6 known generations of Costello's. So, I'm in the FamilyTreeDNA data base; If a rich uncle ever turns up, I'll ask him to share his wealth with us all.

I've mentioned in the past that I planned to investigate the Costello DNA. Well, I've done all of that. I've sent my DNA supplier "$money$" & "spitum" which they've analyzed. At this point, they have found 25 sets of folks "out there" somewhere who have the same DNA structure that I have, that is, Costello DNA. I've all of their names & e-mail nums. None of the names contained on the list do I recognize. FamilyTreeDNA, whom I'm working with, has all of this in their data base; if you're interested, Google 'em. I'm in process of contacting these 25 potential cousins; I hope that we can stand it. If this works out, we may need some male Haggerty's & Laverty's to volunteer some of their "spitum" for the "cause". Stay tuned.
