| OBITUARY345 RALEIGH - Mrs. Nell Taylor Carpenter, 95, formerly of Sunrise Ave. died Sunday, May 26, 1996, at Rex Convalescent Center where she was a resident. She was born April 1, 1901 in Rutherford County, a daughter of John Martin Taylor and Martha Jane Nodine Taylor and had been a resident of Raleigh since 1933. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Scripture Gleaners Sunday School Class. She was married to Patrick Alfred Carpenter who preceded her in death. She was employed by Hudson Belk for 25 years and was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. Surviving are daughters, Barbara Carpenter Bryan of Raleigh and Joyce Carpenter Kiser and son-in-law, Mose Kiser, Jr. of Greensboro. Mrs. Carpenter has four grandchildren, Mose Kiser, III, and Patrick Stewart Kiser of Greensboro, Kathy Bryan Saieed of Raleigh and David Parker Bryan of Garner; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 301 East Whitaker Mill Road, with the Rev. Conway Langford officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service and other times at the home of Mrs. Bryan, 3609 Greenlawn Drive, Raleigh.
