"Ma Roberts (Belle) nursed Clara along with Walter due to Dillie's [Dillie Elmira Roberts] inability to nurse baby - she had lost 2 other infants (Buried at Dickinson Family Cem, Marion Co AL) 1887 & 1889. Dillie [Elmira Roberts] had TB and died when Clara was 18 mos old. Belle & W.A. (Bill) Roberts raised her. Mr. Dickinson remarried and had 3 other children. Dillie buried at Dickinson Cem. in unmarked grave."²⁶
