Mary McFeely writes, "Uncle Holly was a bit of a character. He was in his 90s then [when Mary visited in the 3rd or 4th grade] and still driving, but he had a stiff neck and couldn't turn it. Someone told us that he'd been in a wreck with a train and had injured his neck some years earlier. The reason it was stiff was because he'd refused to wear a neckbrace because he didn't like it and his neck hadn't healed properly. My memories of the Roberts are fuzzy, but I do remember that they were very, very nice people -- all of them."31
