George married 1 Sophia Dorothea of BRUNSWICK-LÜNEBURG on Nov 21 1682 in Celle Castle Chapel, Germany. The marriage ended in divorce. Sophia was born 2 on Sep 5 1666 in Celle Castle, Germany. She died 3 on Nov 13 1726 in Castle of Ahlden, Hanover, Saxony [Germany].
George's wife, the beautiful but empty-headed Sophia Dorothea of Celle, had grown bored with her husband and had become involved with a Swedish Colonel of Dragoons, Philip von Knigsmark. On 1 July 1694, Knigsmark disappeared and was never seen again; it was rumoured throughout Europe that Gerge had ordered his wife's lover to be hacked to pieces and that his mutilated body had been buried under the floorboards at the Herrenhausen. What really shocked the people was George's inhuman treatment of his wife. Sophia Dorothea was divorce, forbidden to see her children again and then imprisoned in the Castle of Ahlden for the rest of her life. Sophia was twenty-eight at the time and was to live for another thirty-two years; perhaps Königsmark's fate had been kinder.

My source for Hannah Stokes is the secondary reference "The Ancestery and Allied Families of Walter L. Bell and Ruth Rankin" by I. Bell Willete, a book available at the DAR library in Washington, DC. The book also says that Mary Bell married _________ Anderson, but gives no first name.

I have been trying to link my Burrell Bell who married Sophia Yancey (1-17-1797 in Blount Co. TN) with the Burrell Bell's in your list. There is Burrell Bell b. abt. 1808 who was the son of Burrell and Sophia Yancey. There is also Burrell Bell (b. 1715-25?) son of John Bell and Hannah Stokes that you have listed.
