LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT

OF

JANE BOWES


Proved on Saturday the 22nd day of April A.D. 1893, upon the deposn of William Moser, one of the subj witnesses.

This is the last Will and testament of me Jane Bowes of Cow Bay widow of Christian Bowes of the same place farmer.

First—I devise and bequeath all the real estate to which I may be entitled at the time of my death to Alvin Hemeon (?) of Cow Bay, Fisherman, Executor of this my will in trust to hold the same for the maintenance of my two infant children Joseph Bowes and Eunice Bowes and to convey the same to them one half to each when my said son Joseph Bowes shall have reached the age of twenty-one years.

Secondly—I bequeath to Jessie Hemeon (?) wife of the said Alvin Hemeon (?) all my personal property and effects of any kind that I may die possessed of to her use and benefit and that my funeral and my expenses of my late illness be paid by her out of my personal property.

Thirdly—I appoint the said Alvin Hemeon (?) to be Executor of this my will and guardian of my two infant children until my said son Joseph Bowes shall reach the age of twenty-one years. And I require the said guardian to give bonds for the full value of the said real estate to the Judge of Probate for Halifax County.

Signed sealed published and declared as and for her last will and testament by the said Jane Bowes in the presence of us present at the same time who in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunder subscribed our names as witnesses hereto.
