     Agnes N. Batchelder was born on Oct 28, 1823 in Bath, New Hampshire.^1,2 She was the daughter of Nathan Batchelder and Mary Nelson.¹

     Agnes married Robert S. Gilkerson, son of Thomas Gilkerson and Marion Somers, on Feb 19, 1846 in Bath, New Hampshire.¹

     Agnes and Robert appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Manteno, Kankakee County, Illinois, enumerated Aug 1, 1860, with their children Laura, Mary, Nathan, Luther and Frank. Also in the house were John Betz, laborer, and William Batchelder, farmer.²
