William Gilkerson was born on Jul 22, 1774 in Kilwinan, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of John Gilkerson and Janet Gilkerson.1
William married Agnes Somers, daughter of Robert Somers, on Jan 28, 1802.1
He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Barnet, Caledonia County, Vermont in the household of his daughter and son-in-law Agnes and James Lang.2
William died on Mar 24, 1864 at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 2 days.1 He was buried in Barnet Center Cemetery, Barnet.1
