     Mary Wallace was born circa 1831 in Vermont.2 She was the daughter of William Wallace.1

     Mary married John S. Somers, son of Bartholomew Somers and Jean Morrison.1

     Mary and John appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Barnet, Caledonia County, Vermont, enumerated Jul 21, 1860, with their children Herbert and Alice.2

     The family moved to Green Mountain, Iowa in 1863.1
